Ways We Saved Money in January

Every month this year I will be sharing some of the ways we saved money that month. This will not be an exhaustive list as it would take me too long to compose but it will be some highlights! 🙂

So, without any further ado, here is a list of how we kept a few more pennies in our pockets last month:

I cut up clothing that could not be donated into various size rags to be used in place of paper towels

I mended family clothing that had small tears and holes

We save cleaned egg shells to be dried and crushed to be given to our chickens as a calcium supplement

We turned the heat down 1 more degree

I drank no alcohol this month

I saved all of my change and dollar bills. Change is saved for our family’s annual Christmas outing and the dollar bills go toward paying down our mortgage

We cleaned and organized our fridge and freezers, taking everything out to see exactly what we had. We had so much that we decided to skip a trip to the grocery store

We didn’t use the dryer. Okay, this one was not by choice as our dryer died, again, and it was beyond repair this time. So instead of using our EF, we are hoping to save enough money in February (Fabulously Frugal February) that we can purchase a dryer

Thank you for visiting! We would love to know how January went for you. Please take a moment to share some of your frugal successes with a comment.
